The tickets are available at the municipal tourist information centres, at Deutsche Bahn ticket machines and in their travel centres within the VRR zones, at ADTicket (www.adticket.de) and at all venues.

At advance sale (27th February until 8th May), single tickets will be available for 14 € whereas a 4-person-tickets can be aquired for 44 €. On the 30th of June 2012, only single tickets will be available at the box office at a price of 16 €.
Holders of the RUHR-TOPCARD receive a 50 percent discount on the regular ticket price for adults. Consequently, you pay 7 € instead of 14 €. 

The ExtraSchicht ticket grants you free entry to all venues and events. Besides, it acts as a travel ticket for the ExtraSchicht shuttle buses and for the public transports in the VRR and VGN zones, whole-time on the 30th of June, and until 7 am on the 1th of July.

Holders of the RUHR.TOPCARD obtain their ExtraSchicht wristband on presentation of their card at these advance sale points in the pre-selling period (27th May until 8th July). >> more

You save ready cash. From 9 May to 29 Jule 2012 you pay only 7 € on presentation of your personal Ruhr.TOPCARD. At the box office, there is NO discount. Furthermore, with the wristband you can use the local public transports for free to get to the ExtraSchicht. The RUHR.TOPCARD alone is not valid for this journey.

The ExtraSchicht tickets are person-specific. At the first venue visited, each visitor receives a wristband which is attached to his arm. Thus you cannot lose your ticket, and subsequent security checks on the doors can be performed much faster.

The ExtraSchicht shuttle buses run from 6 p.m. until 3 a.m.

The shuttle bus travel times between the individual stops can be found in the mobility plan included in the ExtraSchicht programme booklet which will also be available for download as for 09 May 2012.

A practical tip based on the experience of previous years: Do not try to do too much since the Ruhr area is big and some of the distances to cover are huge. Choose three to four venues, ideally in the same discovery area, or which are connected by means of a shuttle line. This allows you to thoroughly experience and enjoy the individual venues. If you want to visit the finalé show at a particular venue, plan in enough time to get there well before it starts as the spectacular midnight draw large crowds.

That depends on the circumstances and programme points of the individual venues. For each venue the programme booklet mentions if the productions are unhampered by barriers or if there are any limitations.

The programme booklet for ExtraSchicht 2012 will be available from 09 May at all known advance sale points and venues and will also be available for download on our site then.

As ExtraSchicht draws large numbers of visitors, it is recommended that you use public transportation which is free of charge with your ExtraSchicht ticket. The shuttle buses ensure good connections between the venues. For visitors from further afield, it is convenient to drive to one of the venues and travel on from there with the shuttle buses.
